JEN JAY’S ART GROUPS
I’m a qualified Art and Design Teacher and Professional Artist. My studio is located at Peregian Springs on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
Having an Art Group for many years in NSW, I’m hoping to build a small art community to learn creative ways to splash some paint, have fun, catch up with likeminded people and to enjoy making art in a supporting space.
You will learn to paint with confidence by getting a greater understanding of colour, techniques and materials.
For those who are complete beginners – a new love of painting and creating as your inspiration becomes heightened. Trying different approaches and materials with step-by-step instruction will broaden your “know how”.
You will create frame-worthy pieces of your original art to display in your home or share as heart felt gifts for family and friends!
If you are an established artist, Jen can open your creative exploration and boundaries to new levels whilst encompassing your chosen subjects.
Jen has varied workshops and dates throughout the year, be sure to leave your name on the interested list and Jen will contact you when dates and spaces become available.
Art Lessons & Workshops
STUDENTS 8’s to Teens
Length: 1.5 hours
Young artist benefit from private lessons as the designated artist studio is an inspiration and
experience on its own.
Students from eight to late teens enjoy the easy flow to the program I have created. This is designed for them to learn valuable techniques in a fun and inspiring way at their own pace. Each lesson they can select from my images that are specific to underlying learning outcome in stages. The students are visibly excited and motivated when they see the library of image subjects.
They work on an A4 size canvas that is achievable and gives them something to take home each lesson, as a feeling of completed success.
Each lesson we go through a few principals of the subject and make a few notes in their visual diary.
Experiencing a fun 1 .5 hours of creating, before long they know their way around the studio, setting up, and systematically get into their painting.
Sometimes the student books in with a friend or two and they have a special paint session.
Students are welcome to come straight after school and have their term breaks if they choose.
Students can book for weekly fortnightly or monthly lesson. Everything is supplied!
After school lessons, early evening available. $55 to be paid in full to hold your place.
PALETTE KNIFE PAINTING WORKSHOP
Jen Jay’s Art Studio in Peregian Springs
Pallet knife painting is a fun hands-on way of getting you into painting without being too technical. Working with luscious thick paint, and a pallet knife achieving a textured semi abstract painting.
With step-by-step instructions Jen will start the introduction of the palette knife utensil, mediums, and techniques that you can sample to gain confidence and knowledge in. You will be working on an A4 size canvas with Jen, learning coordination application and just how far you can push this medium. You will be taking your own painting home.
Tea and coffee is available.
$160 to be paid in full to hold your place.
Cancellation one week before date of your workshop to receive a refund, alternatively you can rebook for future workshops.
PRIVATE LESSONS
Length: 1.5 hours
Private art lessons are often a great place to start.
Jen’s studio is equipped and a great learning space to honour your long time wishes of learning how to paint, pick up a paint brush again after a long period or “since school days”.
Over several decades Jen has experienced every type of learner student to the advanced
accomplished artist.
For Jen, teaching is to show but not tell. Jen checks in with you to see what inspires you being in mediums, subjects, and styles.
It can be quiet confronting to walk into a busy creative space. Some people have such a yearning to be creative however, not knowing how good or bad they maybe can be enough, to never participate.
Personal expression and creating can feel exposed for some.
Formulated over decades of experience, Jen has a 100% success style of teaching.
Having inherited talent from your descendants is untrue! Having been exposed to a life by an artist or creative is more likely the case.
Jen is a great advocate for the health benefits of painting, young or old. Research has found that the stimulus and cognitive benefits are worth every time spent creating.
Often students move to a group lesson, workshops, or bring a friend. They become confident to hang their paintings at home! They post their achievements on social media and gift their paintings to friends and family. Not to mention getting commissions and exhibiting!

Lessons are booked for the convenient time 1.5 hours with everything supplied for $65.
Jen can give you a list of materials as soon as you become addicted.
PAINT n’ SIP NIGHT
Length: 1.5-2 hours
Often throughout the year Jen will run sip and Paint themed night or afternoon for 1.5 to 2 hours. Arrive with everything set up for you to experience a real-life art studio and get hands on straight away.
You are welcome to book the total of 6 persons, or when join in with a mixed group. You can register your interest and be advised of the next session or keep your eyes open when I post on social media.
This can be a great activity to do with your partner, social group, or hens’ night … to name a few. Jen can also customise the painting subject for a special celebrated themed event.
You will be in a relaxed environment and given step-by-step tuition. Sip your beverage, enjoy the grazing platter and feel confident that you will take home a funky art piece.

PAINT TO YOU
Length: From 2 hours
Jen has her mobile studio ready to meet you at your chosen venue, be it at home, office, or restaurant. Whether it is a small or large group, Jen is engaging, fun and experienced at delivering inspiration.
This style of workshop comes to you … so can be for corporate team building, paint and sip party with friends, or as part of your own unique event.
Jen takes care of everything. Setting up and packing down of the creative tables with easels, paints, canvases and art tools. Step-by-step tuition. And finally, a mini exhibition celebrating the masterpieces … with lots of photo taking.
The host can pick what theme they will be painting:
– Private themes for baby showers or Hen’s nights.
– Corporate groups can have a theme around their business. A collaborative canvas can be arranged and quoted and supplied on a larger scale and for the business to display in the workplace.
– For your own unique event, you can customise the style of art in line with your own marketing.
Pricing is customised based on travel, group numbers and canvas size. A starting point would be $75 per head.
Bookings are a minimum of 8 persons with a 50% deposit.

You can Book an appointment to view Jen’s art, chat about a commission or just to see what is
fresh on the easel.
Jen welcomes these visits as not often her clients are always in town.
Many commissions are from her art works that are on exhibit and can be created in a different format to enhance your space in mind.
Pallete colour, subject size and framing are all easily considered. Jen has an interior design background and can be very helpful for choices.
Delivery can also be arranged. Jen paintings have been sent all over the world.
The studio is stocked with an abundance of paintings from 6cm to 3 metres plus.
